Batman Birthday Theme

Time fly so fast! I can't believe that my 2nd child Christoph, so called bobe is now turning 4 years old. At an early stage, it shows that he is really a mama's boy. Always Mommy, mommy, mommy.. and to bribe me, he would always say - Mommy beautiful, sexy, pretty milk please... thats my boy!

Sometimes if he wants to tease me, he would say, Mommy fat!

On Tuesday will be his 4th Birthday! Yes, thats too soon to prepare indeed! I have not prepared anything yet. I asked him several times for his birthday theme this year and always with the same response - a big BATMAN!

My boys are both a super hero fanatic, Justice League to be exact! Francis is the Superman, Christoph is the Batman, Daddy Don is the Flash, Mommy Tina is the Wonderman and Alexa as the Supergirl! What a perfect and complete Justice League!

So batman, batman. Checked ebay, multiply and other online sellers and I cannot find any Batman ready giveaways.

The reason why I did not prepare early enough because I only want a simple celebration in school and in the warehouse. I asked his teacher but I was informed that the allowed time is only 15 minutes - during snacks time, no balloons, mascots whatsoever.

I will probably just buy a Batman cake,

Batman theme giveaways - maybe a backpack or a lunch bags. Then fill with batman stuff and chips and biscuits.

Food - I would probably just order from Jollibee! Most likely the Chicken and Spaghetti meal.

I guess thats all for school celebration.

For the warehouse, there will be 7 kids namely: Francis, Christoph, Alexa, Nicole, Kurt, Mark mark, JV.

Bought some balloons already to decorate around the canteen.

Food - planning of just finger foods for pulutan. then lots of drinks! Will probably rent a Videoke.

Basically, just a simple celebration. Important for Christoph is the blowing of cake and some balloons. And some gifts!

My Template is Boring

As I wanted to drive more traffic in my blog, I joined Link Referral a few days ago. To my surprise, it really worked. People started reviewing my site which encourages me to write and improve my blog.

Some of the reviews I received:

Another pinay blog that i have reviewed for this year. honestly speaking, i like the site or should i day the blog... just quite bored with the theme, but don`t get me wrong, maybe i`m just not used to simple theme. but yes, overall its a great site. keep it up!.

Your site is beautiful. Very nice posts, all your pictures are fantastic. Easy to follow. I like your cindarella shoe dilemma..

This is a good blog with nice personal content. However, there are a couple of issues that I think should be addressed. First, the design is a visibly generic Blogger one; personalizing this (changing colours, CSS, header image, etc.) would help a lot. Secondly, as you create more posts, the tag list in the sidebar is going to get *much* bigger (I've seen this on many other sites) and will run very far down. Unless people are using this to access your posts regularly, it's better to do something about it now. Like I said, very nice blog and easily capable of hitting a 10 out of 10..

Honest to goodness, I love to hear honest comments. Its better to receive a constructive criticism to somehow warn me to change something, to improve!

Btw, I really wanted to change my template, tried and tried only to find out that I lost all my widgets. Hahaha!

Once I will have ample time to search the net, I will definitely change my template. But just as a shortcut, I attached a photo of Boracay as the header.

Good luck to me! But hey, keep on coming guys! More reviews the better.

The Travel Cafe Philippines

We had a lunch meeting at Italiannis, Greenbelt yesterday. While waiting for the 2nd meeting, we were strolling along Greenbelt and we came across Trave Cafe Philippines. Is this a Cafe? A bookstore? Or a Travel Agency? But wheww.. All in ONE! Great!

The Travel Cafe Philippines is a pioneering branding initiative of the Philippine Department of Tourism that presents a unique and creative alternative in marketing the Philippines abroad and establishing a strong global "brand" for Philippine tourism.

The philosophy behind the TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES® Philippine Business Model is Coffee, Travel, and More… By Coffee, we mean “Philippine Coffee”; by Travel, we mean “travel to the Philippines”; and by More, we mean “more on the Philippines as a great destination”.

What a good idea to promote tourism! Nice ambiance and great coffee!

Retire in the Philippines

Morning coffee is always refreshing and times, fresh ideas start to pour in. One of the idea I talked with hubby today is about a retirement homes for foreigners.

I think this is a business which has not mature yet, still blossoming specially in provinces.

Philippines is probably the best place to retire. A lot of nurses and caregivers are going abroad to take care of the sick and the retirees when they can just work here for good. Salary is not that big compared to other nation, but at least you are close to your family and your roots.

Why not make a retirement homes? Not only improve your pocket, it will eventually boasts our economy!

Here are some suggested links about retiring in the Philippines:

My Cinderella Shoes

While in Surabaya, we went to a shopping center Atom. Its similar to our 168 here. I saw really kinky shoes and sandals from a certain shop. Bought 2 pairs at Rupiah 330,000 or in our currency Php 1,650 per pair. Wow. Great. Went home happy!

But when I arrived in Manila, opened my luggage, tried my cinderella shoes and guess what I found out. Check the pictures.

The sales girl gave me the pair in different colors and in different sizes. What can I do? I can only laugh.

I called up my friend in Surabaya to purchase the other half. I hope its still available.

12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country

While we were waiting for our flight to Jakarta, I came across a bookstore in the airport. Too many books to choose.. Twilight.. New Moon... I know a lot of us would want to know the next chapter of Twilight.. but no, I want to watch it so I will just patiently wait for the movie.

When I was about to leave the bookstore, I saw a tiny book entitled "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country" by Alexander L. Lacson. As a Filipino citizen, I want to do little things, I want to help my country, my yutang natawhan!

So here it goes, I want to share to all of you:

1. Follow traffic rules. Follow the law.
2. Whenever you buy or pay for anything, always ask for an official receipt.
3. Don't buy smuggled goods. Buy local. Buy Filipino.
4. When you talk to others, especially foreigners, speak positively about us and our country.
5. Respect your traffic officer, policeman and soldier.
6. Do not litter. Dispose your garbage properly. Segregate. Recycle. Conserve.
7. Support your church.
8. During elections, do your solemn duty.
9. Pay your employees well.
10. Pay your taxes.
11. Adopt a scholar or a poor child.
12. Be a good parent. Teach your kids to follow the law and love our country.

Lets help our country by doing this 12 little things.

First Trip to Indonesia

Our company is engaged in paper, plastic and sticker trading and our main export customer is Indonesia. I am the main contact of these companies, considered not only as customer but also as friends. They have visited us in Manila several times but me never!

But its not too late! Because finally, I am here! Yes I am here in Indonesia. I am actually sitting in one of these companies. They have provided me a table of my own so I can work while I am away from our office. Isn't it great?

As I just arrived and not visited any place yet, I would like to say I am impressed with their airports. I have been to Jakarta airport and Surabaya airport and both are admirable. Clean. Big. Great interior design.

I will post some more in the next few days!

Weekend at Anvaya Cove

Our company bought a land at Anvaya Cove way back 2006. The lot is near the entrance overlooking the beach. I would say, the lot is nicely located, its the best of both worlds - beach and mountain. Great for a weekend getaway (future pa)!

When we were on the way to the clubhouse, I was really amazed on how they developed this place to be so close to nature and built a modern facilities.

I have been invited to go to Anvaya for several times but always declined as I thought it was just too far for the kids. Now with the SCTex, the trip is really worth it.

I can say Subic is still the best weekend getaway near Manila!

Check some great photos taken by CS Mallari for Anvaya Cove.

Blackberry Bold and Me

As a Platinum subscriber of Globe, I got a surprise call from the officer who is handling my account that I am eligible to receive a Blackberry Bold. Oh Great I said! Immediately advised that I will avail of the new phone and after 3 days, I got it delivered in the office.

Getting a Blackberry will incur additional expense on top of my subscription in Globe. The Blackberry Internet Service is Php 450.00 as a non-consumable fixed monthly charge plus 0.15 cents per kilobyte of data sent/received.

This smartphone is packed up with all the office applications you can think of. There are enough reasons to love this phone. What I dont like about this phone is the keypad - its just too small.

But in general, I love this phone. And loving it everyday. Emails delivered in the phone just like in my mail. Now I dont have any reason to say that I am not in the office blah blah. Best is, the mails arrived in my blackberry faster than in my laptop using a pop account.

Buy your own Blackberry phone now! Guaranteed you will love it!

Boring Monday

I am pretty bored today. Many things to do in the office but no drive to achieve anything today. I am quite pest as we are leaving for Surabaya, Indonesia on Wednesday to attend a print exhibit but my passport is lost. We just moved so it could be in another box or other bag. But I was told that they have opened everything already.
